My spacious living room, furniture provided by the lovely McCormick family
Unfortunately I was not provided living for my time in Houston so I had to find a place of my own. As I didn't have any friends or family in Houston, I found a 475 sq. ft. apartment near work that I am renting for $650/month, which includes utilities. For such a large city, I think I got a pretty good deal. The apartment came with a Murphy bed (meaning it folds out of the wall), and a desk so all I brought with me was a nightstand. I was able to get an end table, a chair, and a floor lamp from Laurel's aunt and uncle. I bought the TV stand at Target for $15, assembled it myself being the handyman I am. Now I am working on sneaking off with a couple bar stools from their house.
Here is the bed, you just grab a handle and pull. I really don't push it back up into the wall often.
The aparmtent is small, obviously. But as it is just me, it has been a great place to live. I have about a 10 minute drive to work, I am near several parks, and I have about a 10 minute drive into downtown Houston. There is a Kroger across the street as well so everything I need is nearby.
